Director of Compliance

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Director of Compliance to lead our compliance, governance, quality, health & safety, and security management systems across the Group. Reporting directly to executive leadership, you will ensure the highest standards of compliance and operational excellence in a global maritime environment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage the Group's Integrated Management System (IMS).
• Maintain and continually improve ISO 9001, ISO 45001, ISO 18788, and ISO 28007 management systems.
• Develop and implement the Group's compliance strategy, policies, and governance framework.
• Lead internal and external audits, certification programmes, and continual improvement initiatives.
• Oversee enterprise compliance, regulatory requirements, and operational risk management.
• Provide compliance guidance and support to operational and commercial teams.
• Lead incident investigations, corrective actions, and organisational learning initiatives.
• Act as the primary liaison with certification bodies, regulatory authorities, and client compliance teams.
• Prepare executive‑level reports, management reviews, KPIs, and compliance performance dashboards.
• Foster a culture of compliance, integrity, quality, safety, and continuous improvement throughout the organisation.

Required profile

• Proven experience in a senior Compliance, QHSE, Governance, or Integrated Management Systems leadership role.
• Strong working knowledge of ISO 9001 and ISO 45001.
• Experience leading internal and external audits and managing certification programmes.
• Strong understanding of corporate governance, compliance frameworks, and enterprise risk management.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to operate independently within an international business environment.
