DBA Engineer (PostgreSQL and MariaDB/MySQL)

About the role

Mayflower is a technology company building high‑load products used by millions worldwide. We are looking for an experienced Database Infrastructure Engineer to ensure reliability, scalability, security and performance of PostgreSQL and MariaDB clusters in a high‑traffic environment.

Key responsibilities

• Deploy, administer, upgrade and scale PostgreSQL and MariaDB clusters in production.
• Design, implement and maintain high‑availability and disaster‑recovery solutions, including replication, failover and backup strategies.
• Automate provisioning and configuration using Terraform and Ansible.
• Perform performance tuning, query optimization and Linux kernel tuning for database workloads.
• Set up monitoring, dashboards, logging and alerting with Prometheus, Grafana and the ELK stack.
• Participate in on‑call rotation, incident investigation and root‑cause analysis.

Required profile

• 3+ years of experience as a DBA, DBRE, DevOps Engineer or System Administrator focused on relational databases.
• Deep knowledge of PostgreSQL and MariaDB architecture, HA solutions (Patroni, PgBouncer, MaxScale, Galera) and backup/recovery processes.
• Strong Linux system expertise, including kernel, filesystem and networking tuning.
• Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code with Terraform and Ansible.
