Data Governance Team Lead

About the role

We are looking for a Data Governance Officer – Team Lead to champion data stewardship, ensure data quality, and embed data governance practices across the organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Define strategic objectives, roadmap and KPIs aligned with corporate goals.
• Maintain up‑to‑date governance documentation, policies, standards and procedures.
• Coordinate governance activities with Data Quality Engineers, IT Architecture and other stakeholders.
• Act as escalation point for data accuracy issues and drive resolutions.
• Manage business metadata definitions, business rules and reference data.
• Support implementation and rollout of the Data Catalogue and oversee metadata change control.
• Promote consistent data definitions through training, communications and workshops.
• Report on data governance maturity and performance metrics.

Required profile

• BSc/MSc in Information Technology or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years experience in data stewardship or management.
• Professional certifications such as CDS, CDMP or DGSP.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and leadership abilities.
• Deep understanding of Data Governance concepts and GDPR compliance.

Required skills

• Hands‑on experience with data catalogues.
• Experience with data warehouses.
• Experience with Master Data Management (MDM) solutions.
