Accessibility and Academic Support Specialist

About the role

The European University Cyprus seeks an Accessibility and Academic Support Specialist to develop and deliver accessibility services and assistive technology support for students and staff with disabilities.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, assess and document accessibility requirements of students and staff.
• Provide guidance on assistive technologies, captioning, speech‑to‑text, text‑to‑speech and alternative formats.
• Support the creation of accessible learning content and advise on Universal Design for Learning (UDL).
• Identify barriers in physical and digital environments and contribute to improvements.
• Develop and deliver training and awareness activities on disability, accessibility and inclusive practices.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Education Sciences, Psychology, Occupational Therapy, Speech & Language Therapy or related field.
• Master’s degree in Special & Inclusive Education, Disability Studies, Assistive Technology or related field.
• Minimum two years of professional experience in accessibility or assistive technology support.
• Fluency in Greek and English.
• Strong collaborative, organisational and problem‑solving abilities.

Required skills

• Assistive technology implementation and support.
• Captioning, speech‑to‑text and text‑to‑speech tools.
• Alternative format creation (e.g., audio, braille, large print).
• Knowledge of Universal Design for Learning (UDL) and accessibility standards.
