Senior Database Reliability Engineer (PostgreSQL, Terraform, AWS)

About the role

We are a fast‑growing trading platform looking for a proactive Senior Database Reliability Engineer. You will own the design, provisioning, and operation of our PostgreSQL, MySQL, Redshift and ClickHouse databases on AWS and on‑premise, ensuring high availability and performance.

Key responsibilities

• Provision, configure and maintain PostgreSQL and MySQL instances on AWS RDS and on‑premise.
• Design and implement automated failover, load‑balancing and DNS strategies.
• Write and maintain Terraform code for database clusters, instances, storage, parameter and security groups.
• Develop Ansible playbooks for deployments, configuration changes and patching.
• Monitor performance with Prometheus and Grafana, tune systems and set alerts.
• Plan and execute database upgrades, migrations and cross‑engine moves (PostgreSQL, MySQL, Redshift, ClickHouse, DynamoDB).
• Manage backup, restore and recovery processes, testing them regularly.
• Harden security through access controls, encryption and audits.
• Maintain underlying Linux hosts, including security hardening and performance tuning.
• Document configurations, runbooks and disaster‑recovery plans; participate in on‑call rotation.

Required profile

• 5+ years of production experience as a Database Administrator or Engineer.
• Strong hands‑on expertise with PostgreSQL and MySQL.
• Extensive experience writing Terraform IaC.
• Proficiency with Ansible for configuration management.
• Solid Linux system administration and performance‑tuning skills.
• Experience designing high‑availability solutions (failover, replication, load‑balancing, DNS).
• Comfort working in a regulated financial‑services environment.
