Quantity Surveyor – Construction Cost Management

About the role

The Quantity Surveyor / Measurements Engineer will manage the financial and contractual aspects of construction projects, ensuring accurate cost estimates, effective cost control, and compliance with contracts throughout the project lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare accurate measurements, quantity take‑offs, and cost estimates to support project planning.
• Develop and analyse project budgets, Bills of Quantities (BoQ) and detailed cost breakdowns.
• Monitor project expenditure, identify cost variances and recommend optimisation measures.
• Prepare and submit monthly interim valuations and final accounts.
• Assess, price and negotiate variations while protecting contractual interests.
• Prepare tender documentation, evaluate subcontractor bids and manage subcontract agreements.
• Verify subcontractor certifications, conduct site measurements and certify works.
• Support cash‑flow monitoring and drive cost‑control initiatives.

Required profile

• Degree in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying or related field from a recognised university.
• Member of ETEK (Cyprus Scientific and Technical Chamber).
• Minimum 3 years of experience in measurements, BoQ preparation, cost estimation and contract administration on medium‑to‑large construction projects.
• Strong organisational, analytical and communication skills in both Greek and English.

Required skills

• CostX (quantity take‑off and cost estimation software).
• Advanced MS Excel.
• Preparation of Bills of Quantities and cost estimates.
• Measurement and quantity take‑off techniques.
• Contract administration and subcontractor evaluation.
