National Programme Officer – Protection

About the role

The National Programme Officer – Protection will support the Chief of Mission in developing, coordinating and monitoring protection projects in Cyprus, ensuring compliance with IOM policies and donor requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in the development, adjustment and monitoring of work plans, budgets, M&E tools and SOPs for protection projects.
• Coordinate data collection, verification, analysis and update of information management systems and social media platforms.
• Prepare and disseminate project reports, proposals and communication products in line with IOM and donor guidelines.
• Liaise with donors, UN agencies, government authorities, partners and stakeholders.
• Support capacity‑building activities for IOM staff, government and civil‑society partners.
• Supervise and provide training to project staff and undertake duty travel as required.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Political or Social Sciences, International Relations, Development Studies, Migration Studies, Human Rights, Law or related field (or Bachelor’s with two years relevant experience).
• Experience liaising with governmental authorities, UN agencies and NGOs, and working with migrants, refugees or other vulnerable groups.
• Knowledge of migration issues and government institutions in Cyprus.
• Fluency in English and Greek (oral and written).

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Familiarity with IOM digital platforms and AI tools.
• Strong analytical, writing and verbal communication abilities.
