Indirect Tax Advisory Lawyer, Associate (Nicosia)

About the role

PwC is recruiting an Associate-level Indirect Tax Advisory Lawyer for its Nicosia office. The role sits within a team that helps local and international clients manage their indirect tax obligations, and welcomes recent law graduates as well as those who have completed their legal traineeship. The firm offers ongoing coaching and sponsorship of the Advanced Diploma in International Taxation (ADIT) and the PwC Academy Business Professionals Certificate.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with indirect tax advisory projects covering VAT, customs and other transaction taxes
• Advise clients on the indirect tax implications of business transactions, restructurings and strategic decisions
• Support clients with VAT registrations, compliance obligations and indirect tax reporting
• Conduct indirect tax reviews and diagnostic assessments to identify risks, exposures and improvement opportunities
• Analyse the indirect tax treatment of complex transactions and business models
• Research legislation, regulations, case law and tax authority guidance
• Draft tax opinions, memoranda, reports and client communications
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and work with PwC's global network on cross-border projects
• Monitor changes in indirect tax legislation and their impact on clients

Required profile

• University degree in Law; completion of the Cyprus Bar exams is an advantage
• A postgraduate law degree, LPC or other professional qualification is a plus
• Ability to work independently and in teams, with strong verbal and written English
