Head of Brokerage, Product & Commercial Legal Department

About the role

The Head of Brokerage, Product & Commercial Legal Department will lead legal support for brokerage, product launches, client‑facing documentation, marketing materials and regulatory matters in a fast‑moving, highly regulated environment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead legal support for brokerage, product, commercial and marketing activities, working closely with the CLO.
• Own department portfolio, workload allocation, quality control and escalation discipline.
• Provide senior legal assessment of new products, client journeys, sales channels and commercial initiatives.
• Translate MiFID II/MiFIR, CySEC, GDPR, sanctions, DORA and other regulations into practical business requirements.
• Draft, review and negotiate brokerage, product and commercial agreements with various third parties.
• Ensure legal quality and consistency of terms of business, disclosures, prospectus materials and client‑facing documentation.
• Set legal review framework for marketing campaigns and regulated communications.
• Lead legal strategy for complex client complaints, pre‑dispute matters and sanctions scenarios.
• Build and maintain scalable legal tools such as templates, playbooks and checklists.
• Manage, mentor and develop senior and mid‑level legal counsels.

Required profile

• 10‑12+ years of relevant legal experience in a regulated broker, fintech, payment institution or similar environment.
• Law degree with common‑law qualification or civil‑law equivalent and strong exposure to EU financial services regulation.
• Proven experience leading legal teams or managing complex legal portfolios.
• Strong expertise in brokerage, investment services, capital markets and commercial agreements.
• Deep knowledge of MiFID II/MiFIR, CySEC, GDPR, sanctions frameworks and DORA.
• Excellent drafting, negotiation and advisory skills in English; additional language a plus.
• Strong leadership, stakeholder management and communication abilities.
