Accountant / Accounting Officer

About the role

We are looking for a diligent Accountant / Accounting Officer to join our finance team in Nicosia. The role involves handling sensitive financial data, ensuring accurate bookkeeping, and supporting day‑to‑day accounting operations.

Key responsibilities

• Perform monthly reconciliations of creditors, debtors, VAT and Intrastat filings.
• Record stock entries from EU and third‑country suppliers, manage customs tariffs and update inventory twice a year.
• Prepare general journal entries and post purchase invoices.
• Process monthly payroll and manage related documentation.
• Monitor, control and organise daily activities of the accounting department.

Required profile

• Strong analytical mindset with solid understanding of core accounting principles.
• Excellent communication and diplomatic skills for handling credit and payment issues with customers and vendors.
• Fast learner able to absorb company procedures quickly.
• Proven experience or academic background in accounting (e.g., LCCI Higher, Accounting degree).

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Good knowledge of accounting software systems.
• Familiarity with VAT legislation and Intrastat procedures.
