5G/6G Communications Engineer

About the role

We are seeking an experienced full-time 5G/6G Communications Engineer to join our R&D Department. This is a unique opportunity to play an active role in both EU research projects and commercial innovation initiatives, while working in a dynamic, collaborative, and forward‑thinking environment.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and upgrade the company’s 5G testbed, including laboratory‑grade base stations, USRP and 5G Data Centre.
• Operate and reconfigure the back‑end of the testbed (servers, VNFs, orchestration via Open‑Source MANO) in a Software Defined Network.
• Implement technical requirements for EU‑funded 5G/6G R&D&I projects and ensure compliance with project obligations.
• Represent eBOS at international consortia, meetings, trainings, workshops and conferences.
• Prepare project deliverables, technical reports and participate in experimental tasks related to the 5G testbed.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s, Master’s or PhD in ICT, Digital Communications, Telecommunications Engineering or a related field with a focus on 5G and beyond.
• Minimum 3 years of hands‑on experience configuring, managing and operating SDNs in Mobile Core Networks, including VNFs and Open‑Source MANO.
• Proficiency with MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, planning and coordination skills, with strong written and verbal English communication.
