Mobile Design Engineer

About the role

Kraken is looking for a Mobile Design Engineer to own the feel and motion of its consumer app. You will work on a React Native codebase, shaping every interaction—from trade confirmations to chart loading—so that the experience feels instantaneous and trustworthy.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement the motion and interaction layer of the Kraken mobile app, including easing, springs, gestures, transitions, haptics, and sound.
• Evolve and maintain the mobile design system, creating reusable components such as gesture handlers, animated containers, and motion tokens.
• Partner closely with product designers to translate motion concepts into production‑ready code.
• Profile and optimise rendering performance, especially on low‑end Android devices, to eliminate frame drops.
• Contribute to architectural decisions affecting UI responsiveness, including state management, render cycles, and data flow.
• Raise the quality bar across the mobile organization through code reviews, example patterns, and documentation.

Required profile

• A strong portfolio or demo reel that showcases shipped mobile interactions and motion design.
• Deep fluency with React Native and a proven ability to bridge to native modules when needed.
• Experience delivering high‑performance mobile experiences in a fast‑moving, consumer‑facing product.
