GI Endoscopy Technician (PRN)

About the role

The GI Endoscopy Technician provides essential support for patient care activities in the endoscopy suite, working under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. This PRN (as‑needed) position focuses on the safe processing and preparation of endoscopic equipment following industry standards.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the RN with delegated patient‑care tasks during GI endoscopic procedures.
• Process, clean, and disinfect endoscopes in accordance with AORN and AAMI guidelines.
• Maintain accurate documentation of equipment status and sterilization cycles.
• Ensure the endoscopy suite is stocked and ready for procedures.
• Participate in quality‑control checks and report any equipment issues.

Required profile

• Preferred SGNA certification.
• At least six months of experience in a health‑care setting.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Ability to follow detailed protocols and work under supervision.

Required skills

• Endoscope processing and reprocessing.
• Knowledge of AORN standards.
• Knowledge of AAMI standards.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) competency.
