Senior Software Engineer – Payments Platform

About the role

FIS is looking for a senior software engineer to join its International Delivery Team in Cyprus. You will work on PRIME, a global payments platform used by hundreds of banks, helping clients modernize their payment ecosystems.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain high‑quality software components for the PRIME platform.
• Lead large‑scale client implementations, including solution integration, deployment, and onboarding.
• Collaborate with international banking clients and internal stakeholders to deliver transformation initiatives.
• Support integration with external payment networks, digital channels, and third‑party solutions, including data migration and certification activities.
• Promote engineering excellence through automation, continuous improvement, and compliance with industry standards.
• Contribute to modernization efforts using cloud‑native technologies, microservices, containerization, DevOps, and AI‑enabled development.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
• 4+ years of experience in software engineering, systems integration, payments, or banking technology.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively with both technical teams and customer representatives in a delivery‑focused environment.

Required skills

• Java or C++ programming.
