Assurance Consultant – Accounting & Reporting

About the role

Join Deloitte’s Assurance team in Cyprus as an Assurance Consultant, working on accounting and reporting engagements for financial‑services clients. You will be part of a dynamic, high‑calibre group that supports large‑scale assurance projects across Cyprus and the wider Middle East.

Key responsibilities

• Participate in large assurance engagements, both onsite and remotely, focusing on financial services.
• Support external audit teams on IFRS 9 reviews, challenging methodologies and implementation quality.
• Re‑build statistical models using raw data and assess model outputs.
• Provide credit measurement modelling and analytics, either by creating new models or improving existing ones.
• Assist with validation of credit risk models, IFRS transformations, and accounting & reporting advisory projects.
• Develop solutions, draft reports and present findings to clients.
• Help clients design and improve credit measurement ecosystems, including data, controls, model risk management and monitoring.
• Support senior management in business development and proposal preparation.

Required profile

• Undergraduate degree in Mathematics, Accounting & Finance, Economics, Operational Research, Data Science, Data Analytics or a related discipline.
• Professional qualifications such as ACA, ACCA, CFA or FRM are an advantage.
• Graduates without experience or professionals with up to 5 years of relevant experience.
• Ability to communicate complex concepts to non‑expert audiences.

Required skills

• Knowledge of modelling software such as SAS, SQL, Python and R.
• Experience with data visualisation tools.
• Strong analytical and reporting abilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel (including VBA) and PowerPoint.
