Surgical Technologist (Non-Certified) PRN

About the role

This position supports surgical teams on an as‑needed (PRN) basis, working under the supervision of physicians and registered nurses. The role is focused on preparing the operating room, assisting during procedures, and ensuring patient safety throughout the surgical process.

Key responsibilities

• Set up and maintain sterile instruments, equipment, drapes, and solutions for each case.
• Prepare patients by washing, shaving, and disinfecting incision sites, and assist with positioning on the operating table.
• Pass instruments, hold retractors, cut sutures, and count sponges, needles, and supplies during surgery.
• Operate sterilizers, lights, suction machines, and other diagnostic equipment as required.
• Assist with specimen handling, dressing application, and post‑operative patient transfer to recovery.
• Maintain compliance with hospital regulations and industry standards throughout all procedures.

Required profile

• Graduate of an accredited surgical technologist program preferred (not mandatory).
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Preferred minimum of 2 years clinical experience as a surgical technologist.
• Experience scrubbing ophthalmology/cataract cases and familiarity with multiple surgical specialties.
