About the role

Join the Kraken Pro team to lead the development of the next‑generation mobile trading experience. As a Staff React Native Engineer you will shape the technical vision, drive performance improvements, and mentor a distributed group of engineers building high‑performance, reliable applications for advanced traders.

Key responsibilities

• Own and drive the technical architecture of Kraken’s Pro mobile application.
• Build and maintain high‑performance mobile apps using React Native and TypeScript.
• Lead initiatives to improve app startup time, responsiveness, and resource efficiency.
• Act as a technical leader across multiple teams, ensuring consistency and quality in a shared codebase.
• Partner with Product, Design, and Backend teams to deliver impactful user‑facing features.
• Take charge of critical production incidents, diagnose problems, and implement solutions.
• Define and evolve engineering standards, best practices, and tooling for mobile development.
• Mentor engineers and elevate the overall technical capability of the team.
• Stay close to the code while operating at a strategic, platform level.

Required profile

• 8+ years of software engineering experience with a strong focus on mobile development.
• Deep expertise in React Native and TypeScript.
• Proven experience owning or leading large‑scale production mobile applications.
• Strong understanding of mobile performance optimisation, architecture, and debugging.
• Demonstrated ability to deliver measurable improvements to load time, stability, or efficiency.
• Solid knowledge of iOS and Android platforms.
• Experience collaborating across multiple teams or shared platforms.
• Excellent communication skills and a proactive, ownership‑driven mindset.
